PUBLICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
I am a Lecturer in Education at the University of Leicester, where I teach on postgraduate education courses and am the Academic Lead for two secondary SCITTs. Drawing on my experience over the last decade writing journal articles, book chapters and textbooks, I am an Editorial Board member for the GA’s Teaching Geography journal. As well as being a Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, I enjoy writing and presenting to teachers and A level students on Data Skills and Changing Places and supporting the ITE Scholarship Programme.
My research focuses are on young peoples’ learning about place, the representation of place, the school geography curriculum - development and curriculum-making, the recontextualisation of knowledge, reflective practice and subject-specific mentoring, lesson study and underexploited methods in education including Q methodology.
